MUSSOW KUMADA

“Mussow Kumada”: 17 awareness capsules for the 16 days of activism against GBV. Videos by Dickonet and Loes Kuijpers. These 17 capsules of 3 minutes each recorded the presence of activist organizations in favor of the fight against GBV as well as the partners of the “Mussow Kumada” project, namely the Representative of UNFPA, and the European Union. This launch is for the initiators a challenge to be able to move away from the banality, from the usual things in which women find themselves by obligation of patriarchal uses and customs; and having to suffer violence which is absolutely unjustified by the human rights code and in particular protected by the code of Mali. Thus, “these 17 capsules reflect the discrimination made against women because they have an illness such as STDs, HIV AIDS; talk about women who are forced to be in early marriage, out of school, not being able to work because the husband imagines that work is an evil object... It's also a lot of violence to not be able to be a woman who has want to dress like a man and play football, to be able to live your life without being judged because there are cultural dogmas which mean that women correspond to a norm and if we are not in this norm , it's not okay. The purpose of this documentary and these 17 capsules is to say, yes, let's get out of here, the women of Mali! » Exclaimed Eveline CHEVALIER, CISP Country Representative in Mali.
